Classifying an Independent Contractor vs. Employee is often an issue for businesses. A recent California Supreme Court ruling has provided some new guidance on determining the proper classification. It is important that ALL businesses, nonprofit or not, understand how to determine if someone is eligible to be treated as an independent contractor or consultant.
